We've watched the semi-finals, tracked the odds movement across every UK and Irish sportsbook, and pulled together the nine smartest bets you can place before Saturday night. Most of them are not "bet on Finland to win."

Tip 1 — Don't bet outright winner on Finland (the value is gone)

Finland's implied win probability is sitting between 29% and 36% across major UK books. Betfred has them at 11/5 — which means even if you're 100% right, you're getting odds well below their true probability. The market has fully priced in their semi-final performance and the post-rehearsal buzz.

What's worse: outright winner is a binary bet. Either Finland wins the public vote AND the jury, or you lose your whole stake. The 2024 contest (Switzerland surprise) and 2023 (Sweden's narrow Loreen win) both saw favorite-priced backers wiped out by late jury swings.

What to do instead: use the top-3 and each-way markets below. You keep most of the Finland upside, you cut the downside by ~60%.

Tip 2 — Top-3 finish is the best risk-adjusted bet

Top-3 finish on the favorite is consistently the highest-EV Eurovision bet across the last decade of contests. For Finland, Betfred currently lists top-3 at roughly 4/9 (1.44) — implied 69%. Our model puts true top-3 probability at 73-76%, meaning there's 4-7% edge before any price boost.

For value, look at the "second-tier" favorites: Sweden, Australia, Denmark all sit between 6/1 and 14/1 outright but have top-3 prices in the 5/2 to 9/2 range. Sweden's top-3 at 9/4 (Betfred) is the standout if you think the staging and jury appeal will hold.

Tip 3 — Use each-way to cover top-4 with insurance

Each-way is the most underused Eurovision bet. Most UK books — Betfred included — pay each-way on the outright market at 1/4 odds for top-4 finish. This means: half your stake goes on the win, half goes on the top-4 finish at quarter odds.

Concrete example: Denmark each-way at 14/1 with £10:

• If Denmark wins: you collect £5 × 14 (win half) + £5 × 3.5 (place half at quarter odds) + your £10 stake back = £97.50 profit
• If Denmark finishes top-4 but doesn't win: you collect £5 × 3.5 + £5 stake back on the place portion = £12.50 profit (loss is only £5 on the win half)
• If Denmark finishes 5th or worse: you lose £10

Each-way is mathematically superior to straight outright bets on anyone priced 8/1 or longer. Stop sleeping on it.

Tip 4 — Jury vote vs televote split is where the smart money goes

The 2024 and 2025 contests both saw the jury winner lose the overall contest because the public vote went the other way. This is a market in its own right at Betfred — you can bet on "Jury winner ≠ Televote winner" at around 4/6 (1.67).

Why this works: dramatic ballads with strong staging tend to win juries; up-tempo or culturally resonant entries tend to win the public. With Finland (rock-leaning) competing against Sweden (polished pop) and Australia (production-heavy ballad), the jury/public split is almost a coin flip. Getting 4/6 on a 50%-ish event is fair value.

Sharper bet: specific jury winner vs specific televote winner. Backing "Australia wins jury, Finland wins televote" at 14/1 is the kind of bet that pays for itself in one Eurovision cycle if you've got a feel for the songs.

Tip 5 — Big 5 over/under finishing position

The Big 5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK) get an automatic final spot and historically underperform because they didn't have to fight through the semis. Tip 6 — Running order positions 20-26 are systematically underpriced

Eurovision researchers have demonstrated for over a decade: the later you perform in the running order, the higher your average finishing position. The "recency bias" is real and worth roughly 1.5 to 2.5 places.

For the 2026 final, the running order drops on the morning of the show. Check the order Saturday at 10am UK time. If a song you like is performing 20th or later, the price will not yet reflect that boost — and you've got ~12 hours to bet before kickoff at 8pm UK.

This is one of the few genuine "info edge" bets in Eurovision. Set an alarm for Saturday morning.

Tip 8 — Use the £50 free bets on niche markets, not the outright
